  • Mt. Stuart trip in Cascades, with Justus, Booth and Boris, mid-June 2008. We climbed Ice Cliff Glacier and the North Ridge.
  • Tahquitz with Sean, Justus, Wayne, Kim, Greg and Jack, on Sat and Sun April 5 and 6, 2008.
  • Budapest Trip with Kim, visiting her sister Seren. Mid-March, 2008.
  • Palisades Trip with 11 members of the Caltech Alpine Club, March 2008. See the Whitney trip page for details.

  • S. Face of Mt. Russell with Brett, Nov 3 2007.
  • E. Face of Mt. Whitney with Brett, Sep 29 2007.
  • Middle Palisade Aug 25-26 2007.
  • E. Arete of Mt. Humphreys, attempt, with Wayne, Adina, Sean and Justus (and Kim, at camp). There was a nasty 4wd drive road that was mean to my Corolla. We had intended to do the E. Face of Whitney, but lacked permits. Camped at the cars Sat night, then went for the top Sunday but didn't go fast enough to do the full ridge. Aug 6th, 2007.
  • N. Ridge of Lone Pine Pk. with Wayne, Adina and Greg. We bivied about half-way up, just before the first roped-pitch. July 14 and 15, 2007.
  • Trip to the Cascades (originally hoped to do something on Rainier), and due to weather, we head East and end up on the Ice Cliff Glacier of Mt. Stuart. With Booth and Sean, June 15 - 18, 2007.
  • Climb up UNotch (and attempt on N. Palisade, thwarted by heavy wind), with Adina and Jeandrew (first day only), and Sean, Justus and Wayne. May 5 and 6, 2007.
  • Climbing trip with Sean to Red Rocks Nevada, April 3rd 2007.
  • Attempt at a winter traverse of the Mt. Whitney Basin, over four days, with Tony, Booth and Boris. Mid-March, 2007.
  • I lead a winter Mt. Whitney trip, Fri March 9th - Sun March 11th, with 15 members of the Alpine Club. See the Alpine Club's trip page for more details. Here are my Whitney pictures.
    We met a friendly guy, Rick Kent, near the top. Here are his pictures of our group near the summit. We actually managed to summit about 75% of the group; the other 25% stayed one pitch below the summit, due to lack of time (and the huge size of the group). Low snow conditions, and very icy between the notch and summit (we fix two ropes in this section).
  • Cascades climbing trip (N. Face of Chair Peak), January 12 and 13th, 2007. We took the NE buttress, on the second attempt (first attempt was marred by a broken snowshoe). Here are a few pictures from the first day (my camera was too cold on the second -- and more exciting -- day).

    • 2006

  • Red Rocks trip with Sean, Sat and Sun Nov 4th and 5th, 2006. Sean pulls his "hit and run" stunt at the campground, backing over an old lady with his Honda.
  • Midnight Bouldering trip to Horse Flats area in the San Gabriels, with the Alpine Club, Wed Nov. 2nd, 2006
  • Alpine Club trip to Mt. Winchell and the Palisade region, with 15 other members of the Caltech Alpine Club, October 21 and 22, 2006. No summit, but with a group this large, I was just glad no one died.
  • Palisades trip, with Kyle, Susan and Kim; Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, 2006. We intended to ice climb either V- or U-Notch, but laziness and weather kept us no closer than the glacier.
  • Amsterdam trip, with Kim, Sean and Sarah, for Anna and Emil's wedding, Oct. 4th - 10th, 2006.
